Zoom in on the face of a plush smiling llama

Photo of the Month - January 2023

Today is her day! Guess who? Yes, the llama! Partner, cute and with oblique and disguised gypsy eyes! Sometimes I get a hallucinated evilness look, others I see kindness and joy. ...

Photo of the Month - March 2021

This month we have a single photography, taken from the smartphone in night mode. This photo makes me verify that tech is wonderful, if I did the same with a camera and post-processing, I am not sure I could make it as good as this. And even if I could, I imagine it would require much more time and preparation at every step. ...

A Blank Sheet

I never was a big talker. Being with the right people and the incentives by my side, I do well, but I also recognize my limitations. I work with logic and numbers, cannot even say language is a strong skill, even though I like to risk a couple of unusual words here and there (at least in Portgueuse). Speaking of unusual words, to those who like curiosities I recommend this video from Vsauce’s YouTube channel, that goes on about the Zipf law and the fact that the frequency with which words are used in a given language can be described by an exponential law. ...

Fast Pace - Living in Two Cities

A little before the end of 2016, I was informed that I’d be the newest intern at Toradex, a Swiss company that designs and selss industrial-class computer on modules, also know as CoM or SoM (Computer on Module and System on Module, respectively). It was a nice surprise, given that I’ve awaited eagerly for a positive outcome, yet this bonus came with a common onus for an undergraduate: move to a new city. ...
