This month there is only one photo.

The inspiration is due to the cover of an EP self-title from the band Rufio:

This is from then digital music was downloaded on Limewire, eMule, Kazaa and the likes. For some reason, this cover marked my childhood and even after all these years, when I close my eyes I can remind it with certain detail, given the time that passed since then.

My theory is that I relate the cover to the song White Lights, where the drums in the intro are very distinctive and striking. Every now and then I get myself humming or drumming to that rhythm. Also, I just now found out that they came to Limeira in 2006 and played this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qg9pJl1qQ3M, WFT why Limeira?

My memory already betrays me a bit as to how I’ve been presented to the band. I have theories:

Theory 1: I started listening to Rufio because of the song Above Me, recorded on an old CD that my cousin Felippe has given me - probably when he got tired of listening to it. The song is remarkable mostly due to the opening, with the little screams of “Rufio” with a bit of a Spanish accent.

Theory 2: I started to listen to Rufio because of the Like a Prayer cover from Madonna, present in the Punk Goes Pop album.

Anyway, here is the recording of this story in the Photo of the Month. See you!
